I was convinced

For she was a traveller
who was owned by the paths
she's yet to take.

And I was the desert
with far too many
dunes, pits, and storms,


and far less moons and stars to offer.

And so for the longest time
I was convinced
that my soul's too dried out
to have an oasis hidden within.
